Opera
Opera Vera presents Mozart’s ‘Don Giovanni’ in a critically-acclaimed touring production. The London-based company is directed by Philip Hesketh and the cast of young professionals is lead by James McOran-Campell in the title role. Sung in Italian with English surtitles, the performance is accompanied by the players of Brillig Ensemble.
‘An intelligent and thoroughly musical account of Mozart’s score’, ‘James McOran-Campbell as the wicked Don was magnetic: a man possessed by a sexual energy that left him unable to function at normal levels of human interaction…terrifically exciting.’
‘We are not the most enthusiastic St Mary's Church, opera-goers by a long shot but we know how it made us feel. The opening gave us goose bumps!’. ‘Throughout the entire performance, there was an amazing chemistry and harmony between the actors and the orchestra’.
