“Everything was amazing, craftwork, all the artwork, Matilda and everyone that took part. I wish we could have this again here at Northolt Leisure Library. I haven’t seen a turnout like this for a long time. Thanks for everything.”

Please note that we are pausing Arts Award until next year when we hope that we will be able to restart activities.

Arts Award is for you!

Arts Award is a unique qualification that supports anyone aged up to 25 to grow as artists and arts leaders. Participants can seek out challenges in many art forms - from fashion to digital art, photography to poetry. At the same time, it helps them to find the inspiration to connect with and take part in the wider arts world.

Through Arts Award young people learn to work independently and to prepare for further education and employment. Arts Award also earns you UCAS and QCF points.

Northolt Leisure Library

There was a special month of activities during August to support Arts Award participation with a great array of different arts to discover and to take part in.

The workshops were taken by experienced artists and crafts people who were ready to share their skills. They helped everyone, from beginners to participants who had already developed their expertise to a high standard.

Participants kept a record of what they had done. They wrote about it and kept images of what they had achieved.

There was a wide variety of artistic activity every day so that all visitors could broaden their experience of the arts. There were also opportunities each day to focus on making your own artistic or craft work.

Participants had a choice of artists and crafts people to talk to. This gave them the opportunity to find out what an artist is like. Why do they make art? What does it mean to them to do this? What could it mean to you?

Arts Award Club at Northolt Leisure Library

“Everything was amazing, craftwork, all the artwork, Matilda and everyone that took part. I wish we could have this again here at Northolt Leisure Library. I haven’t seen a turnout like this for a long time. Thanks for everything.”

The new Arts Award Club will take the participants on to the next stage, Explore Arts Award. Club members will have same great choice of activities. They will find out more about being an artist and have real opportunities to share all the new things they have explored.

“This is an exciting programme and we are very pleased to be supporting the Arts Award Club!” said a library spokesperson.

Full information about joining the Arts Award Club, which starts in January 2017, is available from Northolt Leisure Library (0203 7001080) and from West London Arts Scene (info@ealingautumnfestival.co.uk or 020 8567 7623).

Arts Award

For young people and children under 25, we are offering Arts Award to recognise what they achieve in a very broad variety of arts activities.

This a nationally accredited award which develops a true love of all things artistic.

It encourages creativity, initiative and leadership.

They were among the 37 children and young people who signed up for Arts Award in August.
